Elizabeth House

Elizabeth House is home to 14 individuals with a diagnosis of Alcohol-related Brain Damage, including Korsakoff’s Syndrome. Elizabeth House is often the first step on the journey for people who join us, who then move on to either Roberta House or Artichoak Cottage. With a high staff-to-client ratio, it is always busy at Elizabeth House and we are able to meet the quite complex needs of some of the people we support, particularly those who have only recently been diagnosed and for whom a sober lifestyle is a significant change from the norm.

Elizabeth House has 14 single rooms with shared bathroom facilities. The lounge is open plan with several seating areas and the architect-designed courtyard garden is beautifully planted with mature shrubs, palm trees and beautiful flowers.

Our kitchen team produce delicious and nutritious food which is served in the bright and airy dining room next to the kitchen. The people we support are encouraged to get involved in all parts of the running of the home, from sweeping the courtyards to preparing the supper to putting up the Christmas decorations (and taking them down again!).

It’s important to everyone that Elizabeth House feels more like home than like ‘a home.’
